Sopota Waterfall

A pretty Sopota (or Soupat) waterfall, which falls over a 60-meter wall, is hidden in a remote part between Tolmin and Baška Grapa. A neat path leads to it, the surroundings are marvelous, there are benches available for a rest and do not expect to meet many other people.

How to get there:
The easiest access to the starting point is the following: on the road 'Most na Soči – Podbrdo (Baška Grapa)' in the village of Kneža turn towards Ljubinj or Podmelec. A little bit after Podmelec village you will spot a signpost for waterfall Sopota on your right. On the left side of the road there is enough space for a few cars. You can also come here from Tolmin through Poljubinj and Ljubinj villages.

Description:
Go up to the hill by the wooden signboard for the waterfall. Soon you come into a forest and to a lovely rest-spot with some benches, drinking water an improvised swing on a tree. Proceed on a nice footpath and in 10 minutes you reach the waterfall. A high and thin stream of water falls into a tiny pool, which is surrounded by high walls covered with plants. It is truly beautiful! Return back the same way.
