Stegovnik waterfall

The Stegovnik creek runs from the hill of the same name towards the valley of Tržiška Bistrica and in its lower part falls down an interesting wide wall. It is most magnificent after heavy rainfalls, when it's practically impossible to reach the stream bed. In summertime you can refresh in its pools and in the winter it freezes thus becoming a challenge for local ice climbers. An interesting addition when visiting the nearby Dovžan gorge or the mountains of Košuta ridge (on Slovenian-Austrian border).

Drive through Dovžan gorge ('Dovžanova soteska') to a hamlet of Jelendol. Once here, turn right at a marked crossroad (direction Medvodje) and on the next larger crossroad you'll see the signpost for 'Stegovniški slap'.
